Celebrated today as a cult anime masterpiece, Metropolis remains renowned not only for its unforgettable music, but also for its breathtaking visual detail. Much of the film’s stunning hand-drawn world was created by acclaimed art director Shuichi Kusamori, also known for his work on Ghost in the Shell. This special gatefold edition features a newly restored high-resolution scan of one of Kusamori’s intricate background artworks, courtesy of Riekeles Gallery.
