Motohiro Kawashima, a Tokyo-based game composer and DJ, is renowned for co-composing the iconic “Streets of Rage 2” and “Streets of Rage 3” soundtracks alongside Yuzo Koshiro. His experimental, techno-influenced style, particularly evident in the genre-defying “Streets of Rage 3” soundtrack, continues to captivate listeners over three decades later. In 2017, Kawashima reunited with Koshiro for a global tour featuring the music of the “Streets of Rage” trilogy. Shortly thereafter, he embarked on his first solo projects, resulting in the self-released albums “Prepared Wave” (2019) and “Acrobatizm” (2023). These works showcase his unique blend of electronic music styles, reflecting his keen interest in Western trends and his signature playful experimentalism.
Now, these two albums are combined into a single vinyl release. This double LP, pressed on translucent pink vinyl, includes all tracks composed and recorded by Kawashima. The lacquer was cut by Lupo and pressed at Pallas in Germany, ensuring high-quality audio playback at 33RPM. Mastering was handled by Shaun Crook at Liminal Audio. This edition offers listeners a comprehensive experience of Kawashima’s innovative approach to electronic music.
