Curious Music is proud to announce Aspirin, a posthumous album by Moebius, completed in 2005 but never released. Available as a special gatefold limited-edition 180-gram LP, CD, and on all major streaming services, the album features artwork by Mark Mothersbaugh (DEVO).
A pioneer of avant-garde electronic music, Dieter Moebius (1944–2015) was a key figure in krautrock, known for his work with Kluster/Cluster and Harmonia, as well as collaborations with Brian Eno, Conny Plank, and Mani Neumeier. Aspirin showcases his signature kosmische, rhythmic, and hypnotic sound—ranging from the pulsing title track to the dense, layered C9H8O4 and Synthetic, alongside the gritty Spiraea and playful Providence.
The album’s origins trace back to 2005 when Moebius shared these tracks with friend and composer Tim Story. Initially shelved in favor of later projects, the recordings resurfaced years later, rekindling excitement before Moebius’ passing in 2015.
Following the 2021 Moebius Strips project—featuring contributions from Michael Rother, Geoff Barrow, and others—Aspirin further cements Moebius’ lasting influence on generations of musicians.
