Sherlock Hound is a beloved animated classic, co-produced by TMS Entertainment and Italy’s RAI, and directed in part by the legendary Hayao Miyazaki. First airing in 1984, the series blends whimsical storytelling with sharp mystery and remains a cherished gem in the world of Japanese animation.
In celebration of its 40th anniversary, we’re proud to present this special 2-disc edition, featuring the complete soundtracks from both the original TV series and the early animated films (The Blue Ruby and Underwater Treasure). The release also includes an 8-page booklet filled with beautifully curated artwork from the series.
The TV series score was composed by Kentarô Haneda (of Space Adventure Cobra fame) and features two iconic theme songs performed by Da Capo. The film music, composed by Kunio Muramatsu, includes additional songs sung by Haruko Kuwana. This release offers a rich listening experience that captures the adventurous charm and nostalgic warmth of this 1980s anime treasure.
