An Elephant Sitting Still is the haunting and acclaimed feature film written and directed by Hu Bo (Hu Qian), and his only completed feature-length film.

Adapted from a chapter of Hu Bo’s novel collection The Great Rift, the film stars Zhang Yu, Peng Yuchang, Wang Yuwen, and Li Congxi. It premiered at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival in February 2018 and later received the Best Feature Film award at the Taiwan Golden Horse Awards.

Hu Bo completed the film before his death in October 2017, making An Elephant Sitting Still a deeply personal posthumous work and an enduring part of his artistic legacy.

This release celebrates the film’s distinctive atmosphere and emotional weight through its original soundtrack, making it an essential addition for fans of Chinese cinema and collectors of film music.
