WRWTFWW Records proudly presents Tarzanland, the long-lost 1989 solo album by Daisuke Hinata of Japanese electronic/ambient/synth-pop group Interior. Available on vinyl for the first time ever, this smooth, feel-good LP comes as a limited-edition turquoise and light pink pressing, housed in a heavyweight 350gsm sleeve with an obi strip.
A sun-soaked blend of late-’80s kankyo ongaku, minimal proto-chillwave, and breezy synth melodies, Tarzanland evokes the laid-back sophistication of Steve Winwood and Steely Dan, unfolding like the soundtrack to an imagined John Hughes film by the ocean.
Hinata, a Grammy-nominated artist, composer, and producer, was a core member of Interior. This marks WRWTFWW’s third collaboration with the band, following the reissue of their Haruomi Hosono-produced debut (Interior, 1982) and the first-ever release of Sculpture of Time (Apocalypse), their rare commissioned work for environmental artist NILS-UDO.
