That’s how Arca, the Venezuela-born, London-based artist, describes his third album. It’s his first release centered on his raw, unfiltered voice—both provocative and fragile—cementing his place as one of the most distinctive musicians of this restless decade.

Previously blending songs with rap elements, here his voice takes the spotlight on most tracks, often recorded in first takes without polish. Breath, clicks, and texture become part of the music, adding intimacy and depth. Vocal pieces sit alongside stark instrumentals, while clean digital production merges with piano and voice to create a striking atmosphere.

Sung in Spanish—his childhood language tied to intense personal memories—the album was recorded in 2016 at his home in northeast London, shaped by long walks and tai chi sessions in the haunting surroundings of Abney Park cemetery.
