With the release of " Coexist ", The xx handled the "pressure of a second album perfectly, creating an album that cemented their status as a truly global and groundbreaking band.
On the follow-up to their acclaimed, era-defining debut, the London-based trio of Romy Madly Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie Smith (Jamie xx) continued to present a compelling, hazy musical atmosphere, but expanded their musical world, especially with producer Jamie's growing palette of electronic sounds.
"Coexist" exceeded expectations and became the best-selling vinyl record of 2012. Meanwhile, the band has progressed from playing intimate venues to a band that is an attraction at major festivals, holding its own and collaborating with symphony orchestras. A recent ambitious series of 25 concerts at New York's legendary Armory rounded out a release campaign witnessed by other artists (such as Beyonce, Jay-Z and Madonna) and fans alike.
To celebrate 10 years of "Coexist," The xx are releasing a limited-edition vinyl version of Crystal Clear, set for release on January 13.
