Kindred spirits Passepartout Duo and Inoyama Land come together in a unique musical encounter, blending environmental music with a spirit of improvisation and discovery.

Since 2015, Passepartout Duo—Nicoletta Favari (IT) and Christopher Salvito (IT/US)—have been on a nomadic creative journey they call slow music, drawing inspiration from the places they visit. Their first encounter with Japan in 2019 sparked a deep connection to Kankyō Ongaku (environmental music), a genre closely associated with Inoyama Land—the duo of Makoto Inoue and Yasushi Yamashita known for their seminal 1983 album Danzindan-Pojidon.

In 2023, eager to reconnect with Inoyama Land, Passepartout Duo arranged an improvised session in Yugawara, capturing a fleeting, unrepeatable musical moment. “Radio Yugawara” is a transmission from a time and place, a sonic exploration of connection—between people, nature, and sound itself.
