In the creative realm of Homeworld, the visionary composer Paul Ruskay found himself unshackled, entrusted with the task of forging the now-iconic soundscape. Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of influences, Ruskay immersed himself in Vangelis' evocative Blade Runner score, the ambient brilliance of Brian Eno, and the global instrument sampling prowess of Algerian DJ Cheb i Sabbah. As the tapestry of Homeworld's sonic identity unraveled, it was woven with threads of creativity from across the world.

With subsequent installments of the Homeworld series, Ruskay embarked on a musical journey that led him towards the richness of live-recorded instruments. Elegantly intense strings and the traditional melodies of Indian singing and instrumentation added depth to the compositions, enriching the immersive experience of the games.

In the meticulous process of revitalizing the Homeworld Remastered Collection, Ruskay delved into the archives. He unearthed original music DAT tapes from a simple shoebox, resurrected Pro Tools Studio sessions that had gathered dust for a decade, and meticulously crafted uncompressed versions of every track. These tracks underwent a mindful metamorphosis through a process of remixing and sequencing, breathing new life into the beloved compositions while honoring their core essence.
