Celebrate 25 years of Ape Escape and 30 years of PlayStation with the definitive Ape Escape 3: Originape Soundtracks in a Box! Composer Soichi Terada—renowned for his lush, playful electronic soundscapes—has meticulously re-recorded and reconstructed the entire Ape Escape 3 original soundtrack, bringing the beloved music of the series to vinyl for the very first time.
This deluxe collection spans 80 tracks across four individually sleeved records, housed in a hardcover box that perfectly complements the Ape Escape Originape Soundtracks in a Box (2024) release. Each element of the package has been lovingly crafted in collaboration with Terada and Far East Recording, featuring original character art and design inspired by the Japanese guidebook.
For the first time, fans can enjoy the complete and definitive Ape Escape 3 tracklist, including the long-awaited addition of “Swanlake,” previously unavailable on CD. The music captures the signature Ape Escape sound — a fusion of electronic, jungle, and smooth synth textures, laced with Terada’s trademark humor, warmth, and groove.
Originally released in 2005 (Japan) and 2006 (worldwide), Ape Escape 3 introduced new heroes Kei and Yumi, as they faced the mischievous Freaky Monkey Five and the devious Dr. Tomoki across a wild TV-inspired adventure. Reflecting that theme, the soundtrack playfully references Western showdowns, kung-fu flicks, and space operas, each rendered in Terada’s unmistakable style.
Mastered for vinyl by Justin Perkins—who also worked on the Ape Escape Originape Soundtracks box set—this release ensures pristine, full-bodied sound tailored specifically for analog playback.
