- Came as boxset
Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Yellow Magic Orchestra with the ultimate analog revival of their final studio album—an essential chapter in electronic music history.
As part of the anniversary reissue campaign, all YMO albums are being meticulously remastered by legendary engineer Bob Ludwig. This release marks the climactic final installment. Originally issued in 1983, the album followed YMO’s shocking “disbandment” announcement in October of that year and stands as the last studio recording from their Alfa-era period.
Created in collaboration with the Super Eccentric Theater (S.E.T.), led by Yuji Miyake, this unique project blends YMO’s pioneering electronic sound with theatrical comedy elements, resulting in a bold and unconventional farewell statement. The album includes key tracks such as “Ishin Denshin (Full Version)” and “Perspective.”
Cut in Hollywood by Bernie Grundman Mastering, this release is available in two premium analog editions, delivering outstanding sound quality faithful to the original recordings.
The Collector’s Vinyl Edition features a deluxe outer box containing a 2LP 45 RPM pressing, an extensive booklet with newly written liner notes (over 10,000 characters), interviews with key contributors, rare photographs, and replicas of original production materials from the time of recording.
