Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) LP (Japanese Green Vinyl)

A limited Japanese vinyl reissue of the original soundtrack to Star Wars: Return of the Jedi—which quickly sold out upon its first release in 2021—is set to return. This edition recreates the original Japanese sleeve design and includes the classic obi strip, with the music pressed on coloured vinyl.

The album presents the original soundtrack to Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, directed by Richard Marquand and first released in Japan in July 1983. The score was composed by John Williams and features memorable pieces such as “Lapti Nek”, “Parade of the Ewoks”, and “Ewok Celebration and Finale”. These tracks appeared in the film during its original theatrical run but were replaced in the 1997 Special Edition. The soundtrack also includes themes associated with the Emperor as well as the cue “Luke and Leia”.

Audio for this release is sourced from the 1983 soundtrack recordings and remastered by Shawn Murphy at Skywalker Sound, using the high-resolution 192kHz/24bit master prepared in 2018.

Note: Because the sleeve artwork reproduces the original poster design from the time of the film’s release, the Japanese title shown on the jacket differs from the currently used official Japanese title.
