Death Waltz Recording Co. is honored to celebrate the 40th anniversary of John Carpenter’s legendary slasher film, Halloween.

This special anniversary edition features the iconic Halloween score, composed and performed by John Carpenter in 1978, presented exactly as it was mixed for the film. The audio has been carefully sourced from the original “music stem” of the 35mm mono tracks, which contained the dialogue, sound effects, and music that, when combined, formed the complete film soundtrack.

The first Halloween LP, released in 1982, was a remix of the original 16-track master by Alan Howarth, who worked under Carpenter’s direction to enhance the music’s standalone quality, rather than replicating its in-film mix. For this edition, Howarth meticulously transferred the original film music stem and arranged the tracks in chronological order, allowing listeners to relive the movie’s chilling atmosphere as they embark on a sonic journey through one of the most iconic horror scores of all time.
