Japanese rock icons BUCK-TICK return with a landmark reissue campaign, bringing their essential early ’90s trilogy to vinyl for the very first time. Newly remastered and cut, these pivotal releases capture a defining era of transformation in the band’s sound.
Marking 35 years since the release of 狂った太陽, the campaign also includes the self-cover album 殺シノ調べ This is NOT Greatest Hits and the band’s seventh original record, darker than darkness -style 93-. Each title features updated mastering and cutting, alongside striking artwork by renowned designer Ken Sakaguchi, and will be released on their original release dates in 2026.
Originally released on June 23, 1993, darker than darkness -style93- stands as one of BUCK-TICK’s most immersive and sonically adventurous works. Living up to its name—“darker than darkness”—the album blends heavy, noisy guitar textures with delicate, keyboard-driven compositions, creating a rich and dynamic contrast. Its deeply expressive lyrics and evolved sound showcase the band at a creative peak, delivering a truly singular rock experience.
