Best known internationally for his early ’90s house classics and in Japan for his video game compositions, Soichi Terada finally sees his game music released on vinyl. Apes In The Net is a six-track EP featuring music from the original PlayStation Ape Escape series, showcasing Terada’s versatility beyond deep house.
Rather than club-focused house, the EP highlights his love of jungle and drum & bass, blending breakbeats, 16-bit synths, emotive melodies, and weighty basslines. Originally recorded in the ’90s and now reconstructed and remastered, these tracks sound as fresh and energetic as ever. Apes In The Net is a long-overdue celebration of Terada’s influence as both a video game composer and pioneering Japanese junglist.
