Inspired by Hiroshi Yoshimura’s encounter with the Hoh Rain Forest in Washington’s Olympic National Park, Quiet Forest captures the mysterious, otherworldly beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

Originally released on CD in 1996, Quiet Forest was Yoshimura’s final album-length work released during his lifetime. The music reflects the surreal stillness of the forest, where lush greenery, silence, and the feeling of suspended time create an almost dreamlike atmosphere.

Recorded in the fall of 1993 and refined through numerous revisions, the album became a late-period masterpiece and a spiritual follow-up to Green, one of Yoshimura’s defining works.
