Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex first aired in 2002 on the SKY Perfect Choice network, consisting of two seasons and 52 episodes in total. The acclaimed series, directed by Kenji Kamiyama and produced by Production I.G, featured an unforgettable score by Yoko Kanno and became a major success both in Japan and internationally, earning widespread recognition among fans worldwide.

Yoko Kanno’s soundtrack embodies the unique contrast of “starkness and lyricism,” perfectly reflecting the series’ vision of a cyberpunk future. Blending digital electronica with elements of Eastern European folk music, jazz, and rock, the music creates a rich and immersive soundscape that mirrors the complexity of a borderless society.
