A limited-edition Japanese vinyl pressing of the original soundtrack to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back is set to arrive. This special reissue recreates the classic Japanese artwork and includes an obi strip, with the record pressed on coloured vinyl.

The album contains the score from Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, directed by Irvin Kershner and first released in Japan in June 1980. The music was composed by John Williams and features some of the most iconic pieces in the entire Star Wars saga. Among them are the debut appearances of “The Imperial March (Darth Vader’s Theme)” and “Yoda’s Theme”, alongside memorable tracks such as “The Asteroid Field”, “Han Solo and the Princess”, and “The Magic Tree”.

The audio for this edition is sourced from the original 1980 soundtrack recordings and has been newly remastered by Shawn Murphy at Skywalker Sound, using the high-resolution 192kHz/24bit master prepared in 2018.
