Released in 1976 and adapted from Stephen King’s first published novel, Carrie was directed by Brian De Palma and starred Sissy Spacek in her iconic, heartbreaking role. Donaggio’s masterful score moves effortlessly between fragile innocence and escalating terror, capturing teenage longing, cruel humor, and the emotional trauma of coming of age in 1970s America.
