Mononoke is a Berlin-based duo formed by Fabian Rösch and Benjamin Geyer, exploring improvisation across experimental electronic music, jazz, beat, and ambient soundscapes. This LP brings together their two recent EPs, each occupying one side, both released on the Munich label tunnel.visions

APARt

Created amid the tensions of lockdowns and social isolation, APARt arose from the intersection of spontaneous improvisation and meticulous studio work. Physical separation sparked a new experimental approach: tracks were constructed like puzzles, with musical ideas exchanged online, freely interpreted, reworked, and reimagined rather than performed together.

modular

modular embraces a newfound playfulness and an openness to the unexpected. Reflecting moments of challenge, growth, and renewal, the second EP follows the same remote creative process but adds a transformative element: the modular synthesizer. Its analog textures, fractured structures, and intimate tones redefine the duo’s sound. Each track becomes an episode, each sound a reminder of music’s power to connect—even when circumstances, like a pandemic, threaten to keep us apart.
