From the fiery drive of Shrimp Dance to the raw intensity of Kuro to Shiro, the uplifting soul of Walk Tall, the shadowy mood of Cat, and the silky warmth of Romance—every composition resonates with irresistible groove and spirit. More than just a record, this is a once-in-a-lifetime session where artistry and chemistry aligned flawlessly.
Trombonist Hiroshi Suzuki was a cornerstone of Japan’s jazz movement, equally adept in modern, soul, and free jazz. After relocating to the U.S. in 1971, he briefly returned to Japan in 1975, where he rejoined his former Freedom Unity bandmates—Akira Ishikawa, Takeru Muraoka, Hiromasa Suzuki, and Kunimitsu Inaba—to capture this remarkable album, a true treasure in Japanese jazz history.
