Akina Nakamori’s self-cover jazz project began unexpectedly in April 2024 with the digital release of “tattoo -jazz-”, offering a fresh and sophisticated reinterpretation of one of her signature songs. Throughout 2024, the project expanded with additional jazz arrangements of beloved classics including “blonde”, “Gypsy Queen”, “Kita Wing”, “Slow Motion”, and “Fin”.
The series continued between late 2025 and early 2026 with seven more digital releases, further exploring Nakamori’s timeless catalog through elegant jazz-inspired arrangements. Altogether, thirteen tracks were made available digitally before being gathered into this long-awaited full-length release.
Featuring five newly recorded songs — including “M amor e… -jazz-” and “tango Noir -jazz-” — Akina Note becomes the definitive collection of this unique project, blending smoky jazz atmospheres with Nakamori’s unmistakable vocal style.
